Preparations continue in view of the neighborhood ‘Shared Dinner’, the event on Saturday 25 May between the Commenda and San Giorgio
GENOA – Today Via del Campo is more crowded than usual: forty-one blow-ups welcome passers-by from Porta dei Vacca to Piazza Fossatello, preceded by a poster that reads “We are peace“. They are the faces of residents and traders united”in a cry of dissent with respect to the decisions of governors who have lost sight of the importance of life, the sense of dignity of the human being. With our faces we say ‘no to wars‘”. Christian Spadarotto, president of the Via del Campo and Caruggi association and a soul socially committed to improving the liveability of the historic center of Genoa, tells it.
The photographs will remain on display for at least a month, weather conditions permitting. “The visitors took the initiative with great joy, it is a message that comes through a well-known face. The incredible thing is that we recognize each other by looking at each other“, explains Spadarotto.
From the start, the subtext is clear. The initiative is not just a complaint, but aims to be concrete proof that “the many differences are richness“, also calling into question the rest of the citizens. “Let’s involve the people of the world: we thought we’d invite all people to use their social profiles and post a photo of themselves with the words ‘I am peace’ written, we expect widespread participation“.
In the meantime, the Via del Campo association and other local organizations are working on the next one ‘Shared dinner’expected Saturday 25 May: “Those who participate will find tables and benches along the entire axis that from the Commenda reaches to San Giorgio. We are discussing with the Prefecture to outline a definitive plan. We will have the opportunity to meet again, recognize each other and demonstrate what we can all do together“.
