G7 IN VENARIA – The day after the “counter-demonstration”: work begins in the Royal Palace today

The day after the “counter-demonstration” at the G7 – the summit is scheduled until tomorrow, Tuesday 30 April 2024, at the Reggia di Venaria – it is time to take stock. Especially for the mayor of Reale, Fabio Giulivi, who followed every moment of the event “step by step”, hoping that everything would go well.

«I don’t deny that there was a lot of worry and the tension could be cut with a knife. The memory of the 2017 incidents was damn recent and the thought of an upside down city didn’t let me sleep. All this just a few hours before the big start of the Giro d’Italia which will bring thousands of visitors to the city. Instead, everything went smoothly and the counter-demonstration at the G7 took place without incident. Let me thank everyone who coordinated the security operations. Prefecture, Police Headquarters, State Police, Carabinieri, Financial Police, Venaria Municipal Police, Fire Brigade. All the agents of the various bodies involved, lined up in the pouring rain, who patrolled the city. Thanks to the citizens and traders who respected the requirements. Finally, I thank the participants of the demonstration for carrying out the initiative in a peaceful manner.”

Today in the Palace the work of the “Seven Big” on Climate, Environment and Energy begins.
