COLLI DEL TRONTO – Castelfidardo conquers Azzurra Colli’s pitch 1-0 on the last day of the championship and takes home, in addition to the three points, a “place in the sun” in the play-offs. An important result for the accordionists who crowned a superlative season so far with this ambitious goal. Now Castelfidardo will play everything in the first match against Chiesanuova, with the knowledge that they will be able to have their say in this new adventure.
The match against Azzurra Colli, in search of points to avoid the specter of direct relegation, was a tough, male match, with the Fidar team doing well to capitalize on the opportunity that occurred to Nanapere at the end of the first half, in a match played on a difficult field.
“We achieved a great result – says Mr. Giuliodori – but now that we have achieved it we must play our chances in the best possible way, aware that we will be facing a team that has done not well but very well throughout the championship. Today we played a great match, with a great result obtained on a pitch on which it is very difficult to play on a practical level, against a team that was playing for an important objective. It was a very difficult match against a team that rightly gave everything in the middle of the pitch but I have to pay a big compliment to my boys because they interpreted the match perfectly. Let’s call it a “dirty” match played a lot on the second balls but we were very good at interpreting it in the right way. We had some important situations to take the lead, then, once ahead, in the second half we defended the result well.”
