Casali del Manco (Cosenza) – A motorcyclist died and two others were seriously injured due to a collision with a car. The accident happened in Lorica, on the Sila, in the territory of Casali del Manco. For reasons yet to be ascertained, the three motorbikes and the car collided. The 118 ambulances and the air ambulance from Cosenza intervened on site with the doctor Pasquale Gagliardi on board.
However, the aid provided to the most seriously injured, a 37-year-old resident in the Catanzaro area, was in vain and the man died. Having noted the seriousness of the injuries of the other two, the doctor called for a second air ambulance from Catanzaro. The two injured were then transported to hospitals in the two cities. The Carabinieri of the Cosenza Company also intervened on site to investigate and establish the causes of the accident.
Driver tests positive for alcohol, charged with vehicular homicide
The driver of the Fiat Punto who today collided with three motorbikes along the state road 108 bis “Silana di Cariati” which leads to Lorica has tested positive for alcohol. After the results, the Carabinieri of the Cosenza Company arrested the man, a 41-year-old, on charges of vehicular homicide and placed him under house arrest.
