The “Genoa meets Calabria” event, organized by the Municipality of Genoa and the Associazione Culturale Oltre Confine, offered an intense cultural program that involved both cities in an exchange of ideas and literary passions.

The mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, expressed his pride in passing the baton to Taurianova, underlining the importance of promoting reading, art and creativity. Even the mayor of Taurianova, Rocco Biasi, showed enthusiasm for the opportunity offered by the title of Book Capital, seeing it as an opportunity for the rebirth of the territory and local communities, as well as to enhance the rich cultural heritage of Calabria.

The weekend of events demonstrated how the recognition of Capital of the Book can be a catalyst for change and for the valorization of local cultural traditions, both in large cities and in small towns such as Taurianova.
