The small municipality of Terelle is the poorest in Lazio

EconomyIn the mountain center of Cassinate a per capita income of 10,724 euros. The richest in the Region are instead found in Grottaferrata, in the Castelli Romani, where the per capita income is 29,724 euros

In Lazio, the lowest income is that recorded in the small municipality of Terelle, a mountain center in the Cassinate area: residents declared a per capita income of 10,724 euros. Going up the ranking from the bottom we find San Biagio, Casalattico, Vallepietra, Viticuso, Settefrati, Acquafondata, Picinisco, Belmonte Castello and Colle San Magno. With the exception of Vallepietra, which is in the province of Rome, they are all municipalities in the Ciociaria territory. Not only that: Terelle, specifically, is also the ninth least wealthy municipality in Italy.

On the other hand, the richest citizens in Lazio on average are in Grottaferrata, in the Castelli Romani. This is what emerges from the national report on tax returns in 2023 based on the 2022 tax year, published by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The province of Rome, in particular the Municipalities of Castelli, leads the ranking; the lower part is dominated by the province of Frosinone.

Grottaferrata, a tourist and residential town with almost 20,500 inhabitants on the outskirts of the capital, with its average per capita income of 29,724 euros, therefore surpasses Rome in the ranking, which is second with 28,900. Third is Formello, also in the province of Rome, at 27,484. Then follow Monte Porzio Catone, Sacrofano, Frascati, Ciampino, Manziana, Trevignano and Santa Marinella: all municipalities in the province of Rome.

To find another province you have to get to 16th place, with the capital Frosinone; immediately below is Rieti. The Viterbese appears only in 23rd place with Vitorchiano. Latina city is 25th, followed by Viterbo city.
