Monday 29 April 2024, at 5pm, in the Hall “Trisolini” of the Alvaro Palace of the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabriathe Metropolitan City, the International Writers’ Center of Calabria, the “Scientific Committee for the study of the life and works of Antonio Piromalli – CIS” and the “Antonio Piromalli Fund” remember the intellectual and the literary critic Antonio Piromalli. After the greetings from Filippo Quartuccio, delegate for culture of the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria, from Lanfranco Piromalli, president of the Antonio Piromalli Fund and from Loreley Rosita Borruto, president of the CIS of Calabria, Paola Radici Colace, former professor of classical philology at the University of Messina, president of the Scientific Committee of studies Antonio Piromalli, will speak on the topic “The critical lexicon in the vain letters” by Antonio Piromalli; Maria Florinda Minniti, former teacher of Italian and Latin, member of the Scientific Committee of Antonio Piromalli Studies, will discuss the topic “Critical pages in the Calabrian literature of Antonio Piromalli on the poetry of Alba Florio”.
Antonio Piromalli, great intellectual, teacher of Italian Literature in the Universities of Urbino, Bologna, Salerno, Cassino. His books are famous: Calabrian literature in two volumes; Literature and popular culture; Critical essays on Literary History; monographs on Fogazzaro, Corazzini, Gozzano, Seminara, Deledda, Padula, Ariosto, Michelstaedter, Pierro, Calogero, Gioacchino Da Fiore and Dante; “Society, culture and literature in Emilia Romagna”; “The history of culture in Rimini in the nineteenth century”; the poetic collections: “You are the bolero” and “I extract you from the typhoons”, “The girl from Ferrara”, “From another room” and numerous other publications.
