From the best “Monocultivar Oil”, the fruity green Dop Sardinia monocultivar Bosana oil by Antonello Fois, from the olive groves of Alghero, to the most beautiful “Amphora Olearia”, the Casa Lontana label from the Frantoio Gaudenzi of Trevi, in Umbria; from the “Young entrepreneur” under 40, the olive grower Andrea Caterina who, in Ururi in Molise, produces Centoundici extra virgin olive oil, to the best “Impresa Donna”, the Buoni o Del Buono Maria Pia company from Cetona, thanks to the oil PDO Terre di Siena Podere Ricavo born in Tuscany; from the “Impresa Digital Communication” which, ex aequo, goes to the Riva del Garda companies of Riva del Garda in Trentino and to Salvatore Rota of San Mauro Marchesato in Calabria, to the best destination for oil tourism with the “Giorgio Phellas” award ”, which is located in Sicily, and is the Mandranova agricultural society of Palma di Montechiaro. Here are the “Special Awards” of the “Premio Nazionale Ercole Olivario” 2024, edition no. 32promoted by the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture, and staged, in recent days, at the Teatro della Sapienza in Perugia, in Umbria, the land of choice for Italian “green gold”.
This is where the National Competition awarded 12 labels, representing the best productions from all over Italy, which shone in the envisaged categories, Dop/Igp certified extra virgin olive oils and extra virgin: in the first, the best “Light Fruity” is the Batta Dop Umbria Colli del Trasimeno from Frantoio Batta di Perugia, the “Medium Fruity” is the Colleruita Dop Umbria Colli Assisi Spoleto di Viola di Foligno, and the “Intense Fruity” is the ‘Hirpinia Dop Irpinia Colline dell’Ufita della San Comaio di Zungoli; in the second, the best “Light Fruity” is the Molensis from Marina Colonna di San Martino in Pensilis, in Molise, the “Medium Fruity” is the Gangalupo from Maria Bisceglie from Santo Spirito, in Puglia, and the “Intense Fruity” is the Concordu by Nicola Solinas from Villacidro, Sardinia.
But there is also “La Goccia d’Ercole – Small Production Award”, a side section of the Competition to support small Italian oil production, particularly in those situations that can count on limited quantities. Like the Sicilian agricultural company Vincenzo Signorelli & Partners Srl with the Igp Sicilia Foglie di Platino Biancolilla Bio Premier Cru oil, winner of the “Dop/Igp” category, and the Tuscan agricultural company Buonamici Srl Unipersonale with the organic extra virgin olive oil, first place, however, in the “Extra virgin” category.
