Two serious incidents of wild parking in Naples prevented the passage of an ambulance and a fire engine on Friday night.
The accidents, which occurred respectively in Salita Incurabili and via Maria Longo around midnight, were filmed by motorists stuck in traffic and the images were sent to Alleanza Verdi Sinistra MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
“Certain ignoble behaviors are to be equated with serious crimes against the community and as such must be severely punished”commented Borrelli. “The incivility of those who occupied the lane caused greater risks to those who were waiting for those emergency vehicles, it is absolutely unworthy.”
The deputy calls for the revocation of the license for those responsible for these violations, especially when they interfere with emergency activities. “The licenses of road traffic offenders should therefore be withdrawn, especially when they interfere in emergency activities”he has declared.
These episodes highlight the incivility of some motorists who, with their irresponsible behavior, put the lives of those in need of immediate help at risk. It is necessary for the competent authorities to intervene decisively to severely punish this type of crime and to raise citizens’ awareness of the importance of respecting parking rules.
In addition to the withdrawal of the license, Borrelli also proposes other measures to combat illegal parking, such as increasing fines and installing surveillance cameras.
