Ferrara Five people were injured, two very seriously, in a road accident which occurred on the A13 motorway, at km 42 south, near the junction for Ferrara Sud, just before 1.30 am today, Saturday 27 April.

An Opel Vivaro minivan (initially there was talk of a minibus) with 8 people living in Modena and coming from Venice airport on board, went off the road and overturned. Two people were trapped and the intervention of the firefighters of the provincial command of Ferrara was necessary to free them.

The accident appears to have been caused by the driver falling asleep, who otherwise tested negative for alcohol.

The 118 health workers intervened on site with five ambulances, a medical vehicle and the air ambulance which transported one of the most seriously injured, a 30-year-old man, to the Cesena hospital. The other seriously injured, a 46-year-old woman, was taken to the Sant’Anna hospital in Cona. The other three injured people, two women aged 48 and 20 and a 57-year-old man, were also taken to Cona in less serious conditions.

Also on site were the Polstrada patrols of the Altedo subsection.
