The Inter-district Legality and Culture of Ethics Award is a competition promoted at a national level and organized, on an annual basis, by the various Italian Districts of Rotary International, as it is aimed at encouraging positive actions in society and, especially in young people, for the development of an ethical conscience that is aware and consistent with the principles of legality.
The theme developed for the Rotary year 2023/2024 was concerned with evaluating a highly current topic particularly close to the interests of the “New Generations” entitled:
“Artificial Intelligence in the short term, among opportunities, risks and possible illegalities”. Journey into the unknown: evolution or decline?”
A topic which, in addition to obtaining a more than positive response from over 200 Tuscan institutes assisted by the Clubs of District 2071, was addressed with a large number of papers, posters, cartoons, commercials and photos.
The institute G.Cerboni of Portoferraiowhich had already won third place last year with the works of two female students, this year reached the top step of the podium, thanks to the work of Andrea Saponaro, of the 3A Graphics class, first place in the section dedicated to posters. A mention also goes to the student Luisa Caputo (class VA Graphics) second place in the photo section.
The Rotary Club of Elba Island, in addition to thanking the two winners and all the numerous Elba students who participated in the initiative, extends particular thanks to the teachers Giuseppe Solaro, Marco Ciomei and to the principal professor Lorella Di Biagio for the support given to the students and for the active participation in the event which ended with the awards ceremony held on Thursday 19 April in the Aula Magna of the Palazzo dell’Arsenale in the city of Turin.
