Liguria, the regional tender dedicated to attracting feature films has closed: 9 national and international productions ready to shoot

The regional tender dedicated to attracting national and international audiovisual production companies to Liguria closed with 9 applications and a request for a contribution exceeding 2.2 million euros.

“A great response which testifies, once again, to the interest that our region arouses in Italy and around the world – underlines the regional councilor for economic development – Important repercussions, not only in terms of image, but also in economic and employment level, given that the intention of these 9 film companies is to shoot their productions in Liguria for 265 days, generating 27 new hires and over 4 million in declared investment. The commitment of the council, in response to the request facilitation exceeding the one million euro allocation of the tender, is to refinance the measure, in the event that the investigations of all the applications were deemed admissible by Filse”.

The instrument, based on action 1.3.4 of the Pr Fesr 2021-2027, allowed interested film companies to request up to 300 thousand euros as a non-refundable grant, covering a maximum of 60% of the investments made, for feature films or TV series intended to national or international distribution, provided that at least 30% of the filming days were carried out in the area or, alternatively, at least 20% of the budgetary expenditure was in Liguria.

“The teamwork between the Liguria Region, Filse and the Genova Liguria Film Commission is giving excellent results in terms of interest in our territory on the part of the most important audiovisual productions – explains the president of the Genova Liguria Film Commission Cristina Bolla – The answer to this call represents a growing interest in investments in the area in terms of economic and employment development”.
