No discounts for the four Salerno fans arrested a few hours after the clashes that occurred last Sunday at the Arechi stadium before the Salernitana-Fiorentina match. Yesterday the confirmation of the arrest for the Granata supporters arrived: they are a 26-year-old, a 41-year-old, a 42-year-old and a 47-year-old, all from Salerno and already known to the police force because they had already been hit by bullets in the past. For the four, defended by the lawyer Ciro Romano, the Salerno court judge confirmed house arrest on charges of injury, resistance to a public official, possession and throwing of blunt objects and explosive material. The investigation, coordinated by the Salerno Prosecutor’s Office, conducted by the Digos policemen under the orders of the deputy commissioner Tedesco, which allowed the arrest, within 48 hours, of the fans who participated in the afternoon of violence which broke out about half an hour before kick-off of the match against Fiorentina. A group of 200-250 “troublemakers”, as the police commissioner of Salerno, Giancarlo Conticchio, defined them, attempted to approach the fence that separates the grandstand from the away sector. After a containment action that lasted twenty minutes, the police launched one hundred smoke bombs and the fans responded by throwing paper bombs.
