CIRIE‘ – Drama this morning on the tracks of the Sfm4 line. A train headed to Ciriè, which left Alba at 9.07, hit a 66-year-old person who was on the tracks near the Villastellone railway station. The accident occurred this morning, Saturday 27 April 2024, just before 11am. Train 26522 of the Alba-Ciriè line hit her. The passengers on board were let off and were assisted by Trenitalia staff.
The man who was hit was pulled from the tracks while still alive, but all the rescue efforts were in vain: a few moments later his heart stopped beating. Investigations by the railway police are underway. The line is limited to the Trofarello station. The intervention of the judicial authority is requested for the investigations required by current legislation.
According to initial findings, it was a voluntary gesture. Regional trains in the direction of Ciriè-Turin may be subject to delays, route limitations or cancellations. Traffic was suspended between Trofarello and Carmagnola to allow the intervention of emergency vehicles and law enforcement.
