Vince McMahon had given his first ‘goodbye’ in the summer of 2022. The former Chiarman had then left some of the most important positions vacant, including that of creative director (given to Triple H). The reasons for the removal would be found in a scandal involving the entrepreneur and at least one of his associates;: Brock Lesnar.

Both names, in fact, appear in an investigation file for alleged sexual harassment against several women. Investigations are currently underway and the conclusion of any trial against them must be awaited. The sale of shares, therefore, is to be understood as a precautionary move to avoid losing money and not damaging the value of the company.

Before then, the company was called the World Wrestling Federation. A legal dispute with the eponymous – and more famous – WWF, the NGO involved in the defense of wildlife – was then resolved with the name change. From 2002 onwards, McMahon and his wife held control of what in the meantime had become a real empire.
