John 14.7-14
From the Gospel according to John
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “If you have known me, you will also know my Father: from now on you know him and have seen him.”
Philip said to him: “Lord, show us the Father and it will suffice for us.”
Jesus answered him: «Have I been with you for a long time and you have not known me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say: “Show us the Father”? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you, I do not speak of myself; but the Father, who remains in me, does his works. Believe me: I am in the Father and the Father is in me. If nothing else, believe it for the works themselves.
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do, and will do greater works than these, because I go to the Father. And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
