This afternoon, Saturday 27 Aprilon the Ciassa del Balun Of Tables, 3pmthe first day of the Tournament of Countries Of Pantalera: On the pitch the hosts of Pantavole Alta Val Prino and the cousins of San Leonardo Imperia.
There Pantalera it’s a different way of always playing fistball, with 5 players on the pitch, instead of 4. The fifth player, fundamental for the start of each play, must throw the ball with his hand, moving from bottom to top, with a short and studied reminder, above the “Pantalera” which can be made up of a wooden plank with transversal slats, an old door, a shutter, suspended at a height between 2 and 2.5 metres, slightly inclined towards the ground.
When the ball drops from the Pantalera, the opponent on the rebound can hit him, as always, on the fly or on the first rebound, and the game continues as always until the “chase” is formed, or by making a “cello”, or if a “foul” is committed.
This is the third year that Pantalera has been played in Liguria while the Piedmontese have been playing it for years, also in town squares, in the streets, on more or less regular fields.
The First Country Tournamenti was won in 2022from the PanTavole Alta Val Prinothe second, in 2023from the Don Dagnino of Andora.
