TRAPANI. There are 251 riders who completed the checks at the Monte Erice Hillclimb Time Trial, the inaugural test of the Super Climb Championship. For two days Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in Trapani hosted all the cars that on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April will give life to the motoring event, organized by the Automobile Club Trapani. It was a real celebration, with thousands of enthusiasts and curious people who went to the central square of Trapani, the one reserved for great celebrations and which connects the historic center to the new part of the city.
“We are ready for the time trial – explains Fabrizio Fondacci, the race director – and I renew my appeal to the fans and enthusiasts. We will close the route at 6.30 and I invite everyone to arrive on site in advance, leaving their car in the permitted places, duly indicated”. “If everything we have seen so far has been overwhelming, we are waiting even longer for the event to start – says Giovanni Pellegrino, president of the Automobile Club Trapani -. Having 251 drivers competing is a sign of Monte’s health Erice and the entire movement.”
Now, therefore, Monte Erice is changing its scenario. From the plain and the sea of Trapani we move on to the mountains and Anna Maria Mazzara and Rossella Cosentino, sports councilors of Valderice and Erice respectively, took care of the organization in their respective territories, participating in the technical table at the police station this morning. Finally, great success for the charity football match between the National Mountain Speed Pilots and a local selection made up of “Legalità” operators, held at the “Mancuso” field in Paceco. A meeting that made it possible to raise funds in order to green up the territories host the time trial. “A particular moment that we strongly wanted – states Giovanni Pellegrino -, and I thank the municipal administration of Paceco, and the mayor Aldo Grammatico, for having embraced the initiative. But also those who, once again, are acting as a corollary to the motoring event.”
