Astrazeneca, Codacons wins the lawsuit for damage from anti-Covid vaccination

On the day in which Astrazeneca communicates the worldwide withdrawal of its vaccine against Covid-19 and the withdrawal of the marketing authorizations for Vaxzevria in Europe, the Codacons announces a new victory in terms of damages from anti-Covid vaccination, obtained on behalf of a citizen who today received significant compensation for the serious adverse reactions suffered following the administration of the Astrazeneca vaccine. The ASL 3 of Genoa and the Hospital Medical Commission of La Spezia have in fact given the green light to a substantial compensation in favor of a Genoese citizen who in 2021 underwent the Astrazeneca anti-Covid vaccination, immediately reporting serious adverse reactions. Specifically, Fep (these are the initials of the 37-year-old citizen residing in Genoa) on 26.3.2021 underwent the first dose of the Astrazeneca vaccine – reconstructs Codacons which legally followed the matter – Two weeks after the injection a hematoma appears in the left hemithorax, and the situation worsens after the second dose of the vaccine, which took place on 10.6.2021, when he noticed red spots on the ankles and bruises on the buttocks. He went to the emergency room of the San Martino hospital in Genoa, where he was hospitalized and medical tests revealed immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (ITP), a disease characterized by the drastic reduction in the number of circulating platelets due to their destruction and suppression of production. And again on 11.26.2021, “complete occlusion of the basilic vein on the right in its humeral section due to TVS and complete occlusion of the cephalic vein in the forearm section due to TVS” was diagnosed. Pathologies which, in addition to hospitalization and frequent medical checks, will force the citizen to undergo specific treatments and therapies based on cortisone.

FEP then turns to Codacons to obtain legal assistance, with the association starting the process aimed at obtaining compensation for vaccination damage provided for by law 210/92. The Military Legal Medicine Department of La Spezia, territorially competent, at the request of ASL 3 acquired the documentation and, after having subjected the citizen to a health assessment, has now established the causal link between vaccination and the onset of the reported pathologies , writing in the minutes that “The onset of chronic immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (ITP) that affected Mr. FEP a few days after the first vaccination procedure with the Astrazeneca vaccine for Covid-19 certainly constitutes a serious adverse reaction (harmful and unintentional response to a vaccination for which it is possible to establish a causal or concausal relationship with the vaccination itself) potentially triggered by the procedure itself, in a previously healthy subject”. The ASL 3 of Genoa and the Hospital Medical Commission of La Spezia, thanks to the battle started by Codacons, have thus given the green light to the compensation due to the citizen for damage caused by vaccination, considered the “permanent impairment of psychophysical integrity”, with a lifetime compensation in the form of a bimonthly check of an amount equal, according to the latest ministerial tables, to 1740.77 euros.
