Savages do parkour on rooftops

Once upon a time we rang the bells – blessed youth – contemptuous of the rules and hungry for “adventure”. She rang the doorbells to disturb people and then ran away, hoping to get away with it. Not today, today we ring the doorbells, enter the condominiums, climb up to the roofs and do parkour, climbing and jumping from one terrace to another.

We are not in the banlieues of Paris, but in Corso del Popolo in Rovigo, where Friday night, between 8pm and 9pmthe tenants of two buildings found themselves on the stairs a group of teenagers – three boys and a girl – in the mood for housebreaking.

The four, two of whom are particularly “agile” and adventurous, after insisting on the intercoms throughout the building which is located in the center, they managed to get the door opened. From the reconstructions of the witnesses they made a first reconnaissance tour and went up to the terrace of the first condominium, leaving open and securing the door that led from the roof to the staircase. Then they turned to the intercom of the building next door and here too they began to ring the bell until an elderly lady trusted her and opened the main door.

At that point the young people without rules, hoods on their heads and recklessness, climbed up to the fifth floor of the second building.

Here, however, they found a tenant who blocked them, with kindness, not without a little fear: “What are you doing here?”. One had the courage to reply: “We came to visit our uncle”.

The man from Rovigo invited them then to go down the stairs and leave, but two of the four continued running towards the top floor, the sixth, up on the terracethey jumped into the balcony of a penthouse, then climbed up and stood out a jump of over a meter downwards, to the house next doorwhere the door to the terrace was still open.

In the meantime, among the inhabitants of the two buildings, word of mouth spread, in chats and on the stairs. Everyone with their mouths open, they imagined the worst for their homes and their safety.

“They also seemed kind,” says a witness still open-mouthed. In the meantime the report had been made to the carabinieri. Not happy with the first round, the trouble-seeking youths attempted a second one. At that point a condominium owner blocked them at the door and asked them to leave because he would call the police. And so he did. The young people were stopped and identified. And now there is trouble for them (and their families).
