Dream weekend for Racing Bulls
Fourth and eighth place in the Sprint, seventh in Sunday’s GP: la Racing Bulls he leaves Miami with 12 points in his bag which are worth the definitive escape in the fight for sixth place in the Constructors’ standings against Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda achieved another top-10 in the race after eighth place in the Sprint and commented on Sunday in Florida as follows: “I’m very happy, the team did a great job. It was an incredible week and we scored points in both races. We expected to get good results and the important thing is that we actually managed to get them. Today we stuck to our plan and made no mistakes. As for me, overall I’m satisfied with how I rode, even if I made a mistake at the start. In the last stint, while I was alone, I pushed and managed to set similar times to the cars in front. The team has developed a great car and I am grateful to them. We have managed to grow rapidly since the start of the season and so I am looking to the future. The next race in Imola is a sort of home race for me, hopefully we will be able to maintain this pace and get a good result in front of the home crowd and the men and women of the factory. Everyone is doing a fantastic job and we will definitely keep pushing“.
Complicated Sunday for Daniel Ricciardo who had to start from the back of the group: “We got stuck in traffic and didn’t have the speed to overtake. Surrounded by the other cars, we struggled to maintain the pace we had yesterday during the Sprint, in open track conditions. Compared to the others, our set-up seemed lacking, especially in terms of straight line speed, and I found myself stuck without being able to do much. We will certainly analyze these aspects in our debriefing. It is clear that we need to improve in qualifying, as I did on Friday, reflecting the good result obtained in the Sprint. Looking on the bright side, the team leaves Miami with a sense of satisfaction: I had a good qualifying and a solid Sprint in the past few days and Yuki also picked up some points today. I am also very happy for Lando, to whom I congratulate. He is a rival but also a friend, and I know his talent. I knew it was only a matter of time before he got his first win“.
