Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel heads to Israel today at the head of a delegation from Cairo to continue talks aimed at reaching a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and an agreement on the release of hostages.
The Qatari newspaper Al-Arabi Al-Jadid writes this, explaining that Kamel will meet the head of the Mossad David Barnea and the national security advisor Tzachi Hanegbi during the visit. Cairo is working to secure a deal that would prevent an Israeli operation in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, according to an Egyptian official quoted by the newspaper.
