A car overturned and destroyed. Serious damage also occurred to other vehicles parked on the edge of the road. Four young people injured, but fortunately not in serious condition. This is the outcome of the disastrous road accident that occurred last night in Alcamo, in Viale Europa, in a section of the southern side of the double road artery between Via Aldo Moro and Via Madonna del Riposo. The findings were carried out by the municipal police, who opened the investigation also using footage recorded via video surveillance active in the area.
The overturned car is a BMW 120 which, with four boys on board, was traveling along Viale Europa, heading towards Via Madonna del Riposo. The municipal police, meanwhile, were able to directly verify the effects of the impact of the vehicle in transit with another car parked at the side of the road, a semi-destroyed Fiat 500, following the very violent collision, while other parked vehicles also reported damage. The driver of the BMW, in the meantime, as the traffic police command informs, tested positive for alcohol. The very violent crash even caused the engine to separate from the car, throwing it almost onto the pavement (as seen in the photo).
Further checks are underway, also using videos extrapolated from the fixed cameras installed on the stretch of road where the accident occurred. Yet another in a long series, in Alcamo, after the previous one which occurred in via Vittorio Veneto on the evening of March 24th, with as many as six vehicles involved. In view of the April 25th holiday, for yesterday the municipal police of Alcamo had already announced, a week in advance, that they would carry out checks for the electronic detection of speed, in particular on provincial roads 47 and 55 which connect the urban center with Alcamo Marina. These road sections are also very risky and have already been marred by accidents, including fatal ones, several times in the past.
In Alcamo in Via Madonna del Riposo last September a motorcyclist crashed into a car. Hospitalized, he died a few weeks later.
