There was talk of tourism and the relaunch of the territory of the district which includes the Marmore Falls and Lake Piediluco just over two months before the arrival of the summer season. The conference was organized to take stock of the situation and prospects of the two tourist locations. A tempting topic that interests more than 150 tourist operators in Marmore and Piediluco who have been waiting for a change of direction in the area for years. «It’s just that – states Manola Conti, president of the Proloco della Cascata – not even a shadow of those who work in the field of tourism, this particularly displeased me and also made me a little angry». But that’s how it went. However, many people were present in the Province room who, despite not making a living from tourism, were interested in what is happening in Piediluco and Marmore, their holiday places and, above all, the prospects of the two locations which form the the lion’s share in terms of attendance. We talked about the past, history and traditions with Domenico Cialfi, president of the Historical Studies Center, while Francesco Fioretti, president of the Hydra museum, focused on the importance of industrial archeology and the exploitation of the lake basin. Stefano Lupi, president of Confcommercio, reiterated “how the association has always been attentive and will be so in the future regarding the birth of new forms of peripheral trade”. Giancarlo Meilleur, president of the “Il Punto” association and organizer of the conference, has committed himself to organizing a new meeting with the operators. Meanwhile, if the tourist operators do not seem very interested in talking about tourism and prospects, the two Prolocos are different and intend to work together “because we are – concludes Conti – both dependent on the waters that are the source of our fortune”. Between Conti of the Marmore Proloco and Cristiano Crisostomi, new member of the Piediluco association, there is perfect harmony regarding the involvement of operators in the choices of activities to carry out in the summer.
