UDINE – What is dance if not the expression of one’s soul that is freed in space and expresses what words alone cannot tell? An art and discipline that has always been much loved and that Città Fiera has chosen to celebrate with a new event to showcase its excellence through five schools that come from all over the region.

“Passi Diversi” will debut on Saturday 27 April at 3.30pm in Piazza Show Rondò, with an exceptional presenter: the dancer and choreographer Garrison Rochelle, who will accompany the public of Città Fiera in a show full of emotions where the protagonists will be the dance schools and local dance.

From Udine and its province the Ceron School, New Life Academy and Live & Dance. From Spilimbergo Progetto Danza e Spettacolo and from Trieste Il Metropolitan. Over 70 students will perform in a show that will excite through the different styles of dance: modern, contemporary, dance, urban, hip hop but also with flamenco and Dominican Bachata.

From 3.30pm the students will perform in an afternoon where music and its natural movement will be the protagonist. There could therefore not be an exceptional dancer and choreographer like Garrison Rochelle who dedicated his life to dance and in his long television journey was part of the Amici di Maria De Filippi school, covering this role until 2018, making himself loved by the general public.

Although he is no longer among the teachers of Amici, he still deals with the creation of choreographies for the afternoon phase of the program and since 2021 he has returned to the program as an external judge.
Garrison Rochelle began his career in the world of dance by taking part in several musicals, the most important of which is certainly Dancin’ in 1978 which took him on tour throughout Europe. In 1983 he made his TV debut as a dancer in the fourth edition of the Fantastico program.

In 1989 and 1990 he took part in the Festivalbar dance troupe. Between ’92 and ’94 she taught dance on the Unomania program where she worked with several internationally renowned people, including Madonna. Having completed almost twenty years of experience as a teacher of Amici, Garrison Rochelle now dedicates himself to the dance workshops that he holds throughout Europe.
