Investigations into the Saint-Pierre accident by the Turin Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office

The Prosecutor’s Office at the Juvenile Court of Turin, due to the minor age of the driver, will be in charge of the investigation into the motorbike accident in which the 16-year-old lost his life yesterday, Sunday 5 May Michael Barailler, of Saint-Pierre. The Carabinieri who intervened on site, in the Babelon area, along the road to Saint-Nicolas, they broadcast the first acts and the public prosecutor will have to decide on choices such as carrying out an autopsy on the victim, who was traveling on the vehicle as a passenger.

Among the hypotheses of crime being examined by investigators is vehicular homicide. Among the first elements, it emerged that the driver, the same age as the victim and also from Saint-Pierre, did not yet have a license and the motorbike (recently given to the boy who was driving it) was not insured. The accident occurred just before 3pm. Having arrived at a curve, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which fell into an embankment below for about 20 metres.

It was the young man he was driving, also from Saint-Pierre, who asked for help. Upon the arrival of the helicopter, with the 118 doctor and the Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue technicians on board, the conditions of Barailler, who attended the ITPR in Aosta, appeared desperate. An attempt was made to resuscitate him, but in vain and he was declared dead at the scene. The friend, however, was taken by ambulance to hospital. He was admitted to intensive care, but the doctors did not reserve the prognosis: his life is not at risk.
