Rodolfo Cinaglia dies following a serious road accident in Terni
After a two-month fight for survival, the 64-year-old from Montefranco lost his life following his injuries.
Rodolfo Cinaglia, a 64-year-old man resident in Montefranco, died at the Torrette hospital in Ancona, after battling serious injuries resulting from a tragic road accident for over two months. The accident occurred on February 22 in Viale Brin in Terni, where Cinaglia was involved in a head-on collision between his Fiat Punto and a Fiat Ducato that was proceeding in the opposite direction.
After the violent impact, Cinaglia, initially conscious, was rushed to the Santa Maria hospital in Terni. Here, due to his serious condition, he underwent surgery and was hospitalized with a reserved prognosis. Despite a temporary improvement that had led to the resolution of the prognosis, his situation remained critical, requiring transfer to the hospital in Ancona for further treatment. Unfortunately, his fight ended last Wednesday with his death.
The investigations into the accident were managed by the accident office of the local police of Terni, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The elements collected indicate that Cinaglia’s car, traveling towards the city centre, completely invaded the oncoming lane. Preliminary investigations suggest there were no signs of braking or attempts to avoid the impact, which could indicate Cinaglia suffered a sudden illness while driving.
The other driver involved, identified as SF, also from Terni and aged 59, was transported to hospital with less serious injuries and has recovered from the accident.
This tragic event raises further concerns about road safety and the importance of carefully monitoring the health conditions of drivers. The Montefranco community and all those who knew Rodolfo Cinaglia are deeply affected by his loss.
