On the morning of May 3rd, an information meeting was held at the provincial fire brigade command with the staff of the regional Sapr (remotely piloted aircraft systems) unit of the fire brigade for an in-depth analysis of the activity of this sector with a view to a better knowledge of the operational capabilities of the unit. The unit is regional, supports urgent technical rescue activities and operates mainly for person-search interventions and for monitoring forest fires. Remotely piloted aircraft, i.e. drones, are equipped with high-performance optics, infrared sensors and also dedicated devices for searching for cell phones. Furthermore, they also support the judicial police unit and the Tas unit (topography applied to rescue) of the fire brigade with the creation of photogrammetry of areas affected by accidental events such as floods, earthquakes, landslides etc. The drones in question are state aircraft, they can also fly in sensitive areas and have the ability to transmit videos of events live, in real time with a dedicated live streaming service. A new reality that strengthens the technical rescue machine of the firefighters who are always on the front line in community emergencies.
