The Torre district triumphs in the general classification of the forty-third edition of the Sienese independence march between Siena and Montalcino. In the two rankings of the military companies, Pantaneto (Leocorno) for men and Salicotto di Sotto (Torre) for women came first.
Twelve districts took part in the march organized by the Tartuca district, in collaboration with the Castelsenio company, the Gs Senio, the Ruga di Montalcino district, the Sienese and Ilcinese authorities: Torre, Istrice, Nicchio, Valdimontone, Leocorno, Selva, Tartuca, Giraffe, Goose, Caterpillar, Dragon, Panther.
The 112 athletes, who ran under the banners of the various military companies of the districts, crossed forty-four kilometers in total in four distinct stages.
The route, starting from Porta Tufi at 9am, wound through the areas of Radi and Vescovado, until reaching Porta Murelli in Montalcino.
So here are the results and winners: first half: Pantaneto (Leocorno) with Maurizio Circelli, Santo Stefano (Istrice) with Virginia Bruttini; second half: La Magione (Porcupine) with Jacopo Gragnoli, San Pellegrino (Oca); third fraction: Pantaneto (Leocorno) with Federico Brizzi; San Pietro a Ovile di Sopra (Giraffa) with Bianca Floris; fourth fraction: San Pellegrino (Oca) with Emiliano Voltolini, Santo Stefano (Istrice) with Elisabetta Lastri; first male military company: Pantaneto (Leocorno) in 2 hours 32 minutes 52 minutes; Before female military company: Salicotto di Sotto (Torre) in 3 hours 19 minutes and 14 seconds; first district in the general ranking: Tower with 68 points
