Catanzaro, the first weekend of ‘May of Art’ ends at the Polivalente

The first weekend of events within the “May of Art” ends today, the cultural event organized by the Municipal Administration in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the De Nobili Higher Institute and the Municipality of Pentone which will liven up the city from 3 to 26 May 2024 (here is the complete programme https://www.comune.catanzaro.it/maggio-dellarte-2024/).

In fact, the festival was inaugurated by the artists involved in the initiatives in Piazzetta della Libertà and, for the entire day yesterday, on the Puglia seafront, at the Terrazza Saliceti. Music, contemporary and classical art, creativity were the main ingredients of two days full of surprises and emotions that amazed and enchanted passers-by in the historic center and the seaside district.

This evening, starting from 5.30 pm, in the square of the Multipurpose Center – via Fontana Vecchia – the CD presentation Sabatino/Abbracciante will be held by the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Music. At 9.00 pm, inside the Multipurpose Center – “L’imaginifica storia di Esperer” will be staged, dramaturgy and direction by Antonio Damasco, with Laura Conti, Maurizio Verna and Antonio Damasco. It is a sung fairy tale that explores the theme of uprooting and the search for identity, through the story of those who left or arrived in the beautiful country, in search of a land where they can live without limits. Espérer is an island born from the rocks of Ventimiglia, in Liguria, a symbolic place that represents hope and the possibility of a new beginning. The event is organized in collaboration with “Edizione Straordinaria”.
