A motorist stops his car in front of the automatic gate waiting for it to open to enter. Suddenly, behind him, a scooter appears with two people on board. In a flash, one of the two gets out, falls onto the driver’s side of the car and points a gun to the driver’s head. He gets everything handed over and runs away. The whole thing lasts about 10 seconds. But the flash robbery was immortalized by the video surveillance cameras in the area. The video was published by the parliamentarian Francesco Emilio Borrelli (Avs): “Wild West climate”.

The robbery took place, according to reconstructions, on Sunday 21 April 2024, around 2.00 pm, in via Roma towards Scampia, in the northern district of Naples. Some citizens sent the video of the robbery that took place in Naples to the Alleanza Verdi Sinistra deputy, Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
“The cameras – explains Borrelli – frame a citizen returning home in his car and, while he waits for the gate to open, from a scooter arriving from behind, with a lynx-like leap, a criminal comes running down and launches towards the motorist, breaks the window with the butt of the gun and points it to his head, robs him and runs away. It happens in broad daylight, at 1pm in via Roma towards Scampia”.

Borrelli (Avs): “This is the wild west”
The parliamentarian Francesco Emilio Borrelli (Avs) commented:
“We are under siege of the most vulgar crime. It’s a Wild West climate – he continued – In the suburbs and in the center of the city there are no free zones. The victim was returning home from work and it went well for the sole reason that she didn’t lose her life. There is a real security emergency in the city, respectable citizens are under siege by unbridled and unpunished criminals. The State must make its presence felt with constant, radical and profound operations. We must act with determination before the rot prevails.”
