The subsidiary Brindisi Multiservizi continues to sink and today’s “courageous captains” of yesterday are thinking of worse patches than the hole.

Yesterday: the renovation of the cobblestones in via Porta Lecce under sub-sub contract, the renovation of the Tommaseo paid for in gold, unpayable invoices for services not rendered and therefore not paid by the managers, transactions, financial assistance disguised as installments of the income of parking, prohibited by law.

Today increase in the hourly rate for parking and increase in resident passes by over 430%; without having adopted a new parking plan, and even worse, without a sustainable mobility plan, PUMS, which commissioned by the prefectural commissioner in 2018 has never seen the light and only a source of project expenses that have never been finalised. While the cycle path screams its dangerous uselessness.

Today the 2023 balance sheet of BMS closes with a loss of almost 2 million euros.

The 2022 one closed with a loss of over 600 thousand euros.

The same result and sentence would have been had for 2021 and also 2020, when depreciation of around 500 thousand euros were not accounted for and the funds (read treasury) set aside in previous years were used, if it had not been for “anti-Covid” accounting rules.

The solutions proposed by the mayor beyond those represented in an industrial plan still in draft are the result of the administrative inability of those who refuse to see.

Take for example the solution of the rotating redundancy fund. Well!!! in a labor intensive service company, i.e. in a company that makes extensive use of labor production factors, if you leave the workers at home how can you provide the services and therefore how can you invoice???.

Unless the Santanchè solution is adopted, workers at home will be integrated but actually working.

But not only that, we forget that the company is highly “unbalanced”: around fifty unsuitable workers, over twenty workers who hold administrative roles and the remainder carry out most of the services that BMS provides.

Or even the solution of the revenues from parking spaces left almost all to the BMS prohibited by the law as enshrined in the sentences of the European Court of Justice, the Constitutional Court, the jurisprudence formed with the rulings of the Council of State and the TAR, by the ANAC guidelines , from the observations of the AGCM, i.e. the Competition and Market Guarantor Authority.

But we have almost reached May and we are still talking about cotic and contra legem solutions which would hypothetically produce effects starting from 2026: too late.

No courageous proposal not even from the opposition which limits itself to stigmatizing the state of corporate crisis without providing any solution and forgetting, as the city secretary of the PD does, that this is a legacy from many years ago, including those in which in the administration Rossi, the PD was the first majority party and when the administrator Palasciano “reigned” unchallenged, defended by the PD and the mayor Rossi.

As a councilor I tried to propose painful and courageous choices to save those who worked in that company and wanted to work by addressing once and for all the issue of too many unfit people and the issue of exuberant administrators, proposing with them the provision of administrative services to the institution municipal; solution implemented partially and late thanks to internal resistance; and I proposed to address the issue of low productivity and the issue of some “hyperbolic” salaries.

In fact I remained unheard. One of the many, too many, reasons that led me to resign.

Unfortunately the words of both, as Ivan Graziani sang, “like snail slime and they are there to demonstrate that it is true, it is true that it cannot be improved” with these old and new administrators.
