‘Better than yesterday’ files a complaint for aggravated defamation

The cultural association Meglio di Ieri of Viareggio has filed a complaint for repeated offenses disclosed on Facebook. In particular on the profile of the criminologist Roberta Bruzzone, guest at the Manzoni theater in Massarosa last April 20th as part of a program of meetings which was almost always sold out with characters such as Professor Meluzzi, Doctor Borgonovi, Professor Fusaro and , last in order of time, Magdi Allam. Doctor Bruzzone’s long-awaited date was also sold out and, a few hours after her presence on stage, under the post announcing the evening in Versilia, she read comments from a self-styled Barefoot Opinionist in which she asked the expert because of his acceptance of the invitation from an association of ”conspiracy theorists” who during the Covid period ”spread fake news” ”doing business in a pandemic”. Faced with the reply – again via social media – from Bruzzone herself, the unknown keyboard lioness also reiterated the same concepts on her own page with the publication of links and comments of the same tenor. As soon as Roberta Bruzzone realized that the situation was not easing, she notified the president of the Meglio di Ieri association, Daniel Griva, who turned to a lawyer. But by now those defamatory sentences had already been viewed by Bruzzone’s followers who counts well 737 thousand followers on the web. ”For this reason we filed a complaint for aggravated defamation in the press – highlights the lawyer Gianluca Pajatto – given that those repeated statements were not published on the Meglio di Ieri Facebook page, where they could have been promptly censored by the administrator, but rather on the profile of a very followed public figure. So as to prevent the association from having immediate knowledge of it and being able to respond. Now it will be up to the postal police to carry out the necessary investigations to trace the identity of the account holder”.
