Sarroch. New fire in the area, the plants of the “ForestaSa” reforestation project are threatened and the municipality launches an appeal: “We ask all citizens to promptly report any sign of uncontrolled fire to the competent authorities. Every citizen can be instrumental in preventing a fire.”
Late yesterday evening a new fire broke out in Sa Punta, near the canal that runs alongside the area affected by the reforestation project.
Thanks to the immediate intervention of the Barracellare Company of Sarroch, the fire was put out before it could spread uncontrollably and cause further damage. “We thank the barracelli of Sarroch for their promptness and for managing the fire, and we thank the Fire Brigade and the Forestry Corps for their support” expressed the local institution.
“We are deeply sorry for what happened, especially because this episode occurs following the vast fire that affected our territory last week.”
Hundreds of hectares in smoke, dozens of people fighting the flames for two days and the summer season hasn’t even started yet. An invitation, therefore, addressed to the whole community in order to collaborate to eradicate the plague of fires and the recommendations to adopt “some steps to be taken to prevent fires and protect green areas: do not throw cigarettes or matches still lit even from the cars: they start fire; respect the laws and regulations in force regarding outdoor fires and fire management; when you spot a fire, don’t think that other people have already alerted the competent authorities. Immediately call the useful numbers 112 (Single Emergency Number) or 115 (Fire Brigade); follow the instructions of those who are coordinating the emergency and do not hinder the rescue operations and communications necessary to manage it”.
In short, everyone must monitor together to safeguard the territory.”
