The “lucky goddess” stops in Ciociaria again. One lucky player buys a scratch & win from 5 euros and takes home 2 million euros to be collected in twenty years. The big win with the instant “Tourist for Always” competition was at the Lyon Bar in via Casilina in Castrocielo. The ticket was sold last week, but only yesterday, with the official bulletin of the Monopolies Agency, it was discovered that the lucky bar was in Castrocielo, a stone’s throw from the center, and not on the A1 service area. The owner himself explained the misunderstanding. «We were all convinced that it had been sold in the Casilina Service Area, on the motorway. Generally the luck always stops there because they sell thousands of tickets every day. When the Monopoli message was delivered to us this morning we thought it was a joke and called the local representative to make sure it was all true”, said Fabio Terenzio, the owner. Double surprise aside, the lucky customer will receive 300 thousand euros immediately and an annuity of 6 thousand euros per month for the next twenty years, plus a final one hundred thousand euros.

«This place is crowded, Casilina is a passing street but people from the area also frequent it. Suspicions? Nobody”. But the owner swears that he “has not seen players turn pale after scratching tickets, nor has he seen any celebrations or people leave the venue suddenly.” Then he adds: «Until today, no one has shown up to say thank you: by regulation, nothing of the winnings will go to us, so if the new millionaire wanted to offer us a bottle of champagne we would be happy to drink it to his health. I hope it’s someone who really needs it.”

«We are used to winnings on the motorway, now Lady Luck has arrived in the town and we are happy about it», says the mayor Gianni Fantaccione. «I hope it is a resident or a person from the area. The bar, run by young people, is frequented by many fellow citizens and this gives us hope that the money has remained in our community”, concluded the mayor.
