Denis Trento, ski mountaineering champion, died on Mount Paramont

Tragedy on Mount Paramont in La Salle, in the Aosta Valley, where The lifeless body of multiple ski mountaineering champion Denis Trento has been found. The 42-year-old from Valle d’Aosta, a mountain guide, had not in fact returned home and the alarm was immediately raised. The man was on top of an avalanche, and now investigations are underway to try to understand what happened. Apparently he had left very early to descend the north face of the mountain alone: ​​he was supposed to return around midday but none of his family members saw him again.

The first search teams left in the early afternoon of Friday 3 May. The men of the Valle d’Aosta Alpine Rescue who arrived by helicopter reached the area, in La Salle. The Alpine Rescue of the Financial Police of Entrèves (Courmayeur) is also on site. Unfortunately, health workers were only able to confirm his death on a snowdrift.

During his career, Denis won the Mezzalama trophy together with Manfred Reichegger and Matteo Eydallin and obtained a second place in the Pierra Menta, as well as numerous European and world team titles. President Flaivo Roda and the entire Fisi family extend their deepest condolences to his wife Fabienne and their three children Severine, Gregory and Gilbert.
