Back and forth between PD and the Toti list on the topic of waste. The councilors of the Democratic Party Davide Nataleregional secretary, e Roberto Arboscello intervene on the waste plan, denouncing that “the Region is telling yet another fairy tale”.
“There is nothing definitive about what has been presented on the closure of the waste cycle in Liguria – maintain the two Dem representatives – but only a further project heralded as having been completed which, however, is not known with certainty either where it will arise or what technology it will use , whether waste chemical or waste-to-energy plant; nor the capacity, whether for 200 thousand or 250 thousand tons. So, other than definitive planning, here we are still before the first stone”.
“The statements released by President Toti, Councilor Giampedrone and Mayor Bucci are reminiscent of those pronounced in 2021 during the laying of the foundation stone of the TMB in Scarpino, which was supposed to be finished in 2022, but which we are still waiting – says the Democratic Party – Because after the first stone, the second and third started to give way. We have witnessed yet another self-celebration to justify the existence of a waste agency that only serves to pay its commissioner and in a year and a half of that. which it is called upon to deal with – from the tenders for the assignment of the plants to the analysis of disposal needs, up to the program of interventions – has achieved nothing”.
“He only commissioned a study, an act which, among other things, is not among his tasks. There is no trace of the plants envisaged by the Regional Waste Plan, all those mentioned by Toti had already been designed before, such as the one in Cairo , or are still being evaluated by the control authorities, like the one in Saliceti. In the meantime, the Genoa biodigester foreseen by the regional planning has gone off the radar, no other words are spoken about it, we were right when we said that the planning of the waste plants approved by the Toti Council is not even respected by the Council itself. Then the issue of the areas indicated by Rina’s study remains: while the Municipality of Genoa and Amiu were aware of this study, the Savona administrations were involved. Or are we once again going over their heads? With what logic were the areas of Vallescriva, Cengio, Cairo or Vado assessed as suitable? What are the scientific bases? In addition to the regasification plant in Vado – conclude Natale and Arboscello – do you also want to bring a waste-to-energy plant?”.
Totiani’s reply was forthcoming, in a note co-signed by Ilaria Cavoregional coordinator of the Toti List, and by Alessandro Bozzano, group leader in the Region. “We are very concerned about Councilor Natale’s judgments on the Liguria Region’s waste plan. His experience, on the other hand, is wide and varied. With so much experience of bad examples, now that he can no longer give any, we are certain that he is the most renowned for giving good advice. On the other hand, it is said, experience teaches us. Having practically made every possible mistake, how can you not think that you have understood from your mistakes and can stand as an “expert” of the waste cycle.
“The administrations he participated in and supported, and even with him the La Spezia councilor for the Environment, had in fact managed to achieve an enviable series of records: bins transformed into rave parties for mice, no disposal plant, leaving a situation that was even defined” archaic” by the parliamentary commission of inquiry into waste, with a framework that did not include any system for closing the cycle and separated waste collection stopped at just over 38%.
