Smart aliens are likely to contact human beings staying on planet Earth, a veteran astrologer made a surprising bet recently. Seth Shostak from the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) project believes that the search for alien life forms is going to be complete by 2036. However, the scientists at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are already sprinting in the race to get the first response from aliens.

Smart aliens are likely to contact human beings staying on planet Earth, a veteran astrologer made a surprising bet recently. Seth Shostak from the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) project believes that the search for alien life forms is going to get complete by 2036. However, the scientists at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are already sprinting in the race to get the first response from aliens.

The 80-year-old expert did not shy away from speaking about the ambitions in the public forums. During an ask-me-anything (ANA) session on Reddit, Shostak spoke at length about the possibility of reaching out to intelligent aliens without really moving out of one’s place. Notably, a report by The Daily Mail suggested that the SETI project has been on the hunt for alien life since the 1980s.

The confidence among space experts is seen as an outcome of NASA’s mission to Jupiter‘s moon by 2030. SETI is part of a large ecosystem of space scientists who are optimistic about getting in touch with aliens in the coming decade. Following the signal traveling mechanism alien chasers believed that reaching different parts of the universe is going to aid in getting our words out there as well.

According to the Mail’s report, trying to establish contact with aliens is not new. Space transmissions have been rampant since the 1970s. In addition, the first one includes details on the elements of life, the composition of DNA, and the solar system’s position on Earth.

“That may be the strongest argument for life in space. Because, if there isn’t any, there’s something really exceptional about what’s happened here on Earth. While that’s not ruled out by the data, it does seem a little self-centered, ” The Mail quotes Shostak said.

In fact some experts do believe that NASA’s efforts have not gone in vain as signals sent by the space agency’s Deep Space Network (DSN) to the Pioneer 10 satellite that launched in 1972 might have already reached aliens.

By delivering strong, focused transmissions into space, the DSN, which is now made up of three radio dishes at Barstow, California, Madrid, and Canberra, guarantees that no spacecraft is ever without communication. The astronomers assert that by 2029, the message from aliens is going to become a new normal.

Researchers found that Pioneer 10 is in the direction of signals from the DSN, which are sent by a white dwarf star 27 light years from Earth. We might also “hear back” as early as 2029 if a planet is orbiting the white dwarf, even though none has been found as of yet.
