Bertolini and Marchet – Solobike.it

A particularly busy and long weekend for the KTM PROTEK ELETTROSYSTEM team bearers.
It starts on Friday, with the Italian Xcc Championships, a short track race in Nervesa della Battaglia (TV).
At the start of the women’s race was our Giorgia Marchet who won fifth position, fully hitting the top ten and confirming her driving skills despite a challenging and demanding route.
In the Open men’s race, keeping the flag of the KTM PROTEK ELETTROSYSTEM team high: Gioele Bertolini, Fabio Bassignana, Andreas Vittone and Marco Betteo.
Gioele enjoys an excellent physical condition, and confirmed it at the Italian Xcc Championships by winning second position. For him a beautiful title of Italian vice champion on his KTM SCARP EXONIC.
Excellent performance also by Fabio Bassignana who finished fifth ahead of his teammate Andreas Vittone who reached eighth position. Twentieth place instead for Marco Betteo.
On Saturday, in the same location, the third and penultimate round of the Internazionali d’Italia Series will take place.
In the first race of the day, that of the Junior men with 74 starters at the start, our Ettore Fabbro confirmed his form by crossing the finish line in third position.
At the finish line, visibly tired but very satisfied, he declared:
“It was a very tough race, I had to start a bit calmly to avoid mistakes in my enthusiasm, then little by little I started to understand where it was best to push and where to slow down, I held out until the end and I’m happy”. Seventeenth place instead for Federico Brafa.
In the Open women’s race, Giorgia Marchet has one goal in mind: to hold onto the circuit leader’s jersey.
Giorgia, despite yesterday’s commitments in the Italian XCC championship, is ready and determined to give it her all. Great test of strength for her and goal achieved, with fifth place overall she confirms her leadership of the Internazionali d’Italia Series circuit.
The last test of the day, the most anticipated and fierce, is the one dedicated to the Open men. Gioele Bertolini, current holder of the circuit leader’s jersey, wants to reconfirm himself.
Gioele started very well, always in the top three group on a muddy route that put our KTM EXONIC mtb fitted with Schwalbe tires suitable for mud to the test. Correct choice by the mechanics, given the numerous crashes at the rear. The laps followed one another and Gioele, after the first half hour of the race, found himself alone in the lead with a wide margin of separation from the second. He manages his forces well and crosses the finish line victorious. The race belongs to him, king of the mud and of Nervesa.
Excellent performance also from teammate Andreas Vittone who finished in sixth position. Followed by a fantastic Fabio Bassignana, seventh, first among the Under 23s. Good performance also for Marco Betteo who paid off a little for the efforts of the short track on Friday and placed himself in thirteenth position, fourth among the Under 23s.
“We are particularly happy with this weekend. We won in the men’s Open race in both the Elite and Under 23 categories. It was a really good challenge, then the conditions were absolutely not easy, with the ground being very muddy and slippery. For this we have to thank Schwalbe who always puts us in a position to compete with the best that the market offers in terms of tires for our Ktm Scarp Exonic. Choosing the right tire is essential. Well done everyone, once again we can show off the leader jerseys on this circuit too.” This is what Fabrizio Pirovano, owner of the KTM PROTEK ELETTROSYSTEM team, declares.
