It has been agreed to bring together a table with the companies operating in the port of Salerno next week to safeguard the employment of the workers of the port company Flavio Gioia.
The meeting that took place this morning in the Prefecture, convened by the highest government representative, Prefect Francesco Esposito, in the presence, among others, of the Tyrrhenian Sea Port System Authority, ended with a climate of trust and satisfaction among workers and unions. central and the municipality of Salerno to address the dispute over the risk of halving the workforce of the single port workers cooperative Flavio Gioia, which operates as a supplier of temporary labor at the port of Salerno.
In fact, working days have dropped from 25,000 to 16,000 and in 2024 they could decrease further to 13,000.
This morning in Piazza Amendola the workers peacefully awaited the meeting which saw their president Vincenzo D’Agostino, president of Culp, represent a series of requests to safeguard the cooperative and find concrete solutions to avoid layoffs.
Next week a meeting with the major players of the port including Salerno Container Terminal, Logiport and Amoruso to try to safeguard workers’ employment.
