Avis basketball Trani is promoted to the regional D1 series. The verdict came late yesterday morning thanks to the 82 to 71 victory, after extra time, in the decisive game 2 of the play-off final against Adriatica Virtus Corato.
In the fiery environment of the Palaferrante, packed in every row with a warm audience, the hosts succumbed at the end of the 40 minutes of regulation with a margin equal to that with which they had won the first leg 63-52: thus they brought the game to overtime and here everything changed with a final result which in turn, in the difference, repeated that of game 1.
Great joy for the Corvino-Amoruso coaches and for all the boys who achieved this feat which completes with the perfect number – 3 – the goals achieved by Trani basketball this year: the salvation of Juve Trani in women’s B; the promotion of Fortitudo in C; the rise of Avis in D1. Not to forget Fortitudo’s second place in the interregional basketball tournament.
