Tonight at 9pm, at the Gewiss Stadium, the semi-final second leg between Atalanta and Fiorentina, ready to take to the field to compete for access to the Italian Cup final, scheduled for May 15th at the Olimpico in Rome, against Juventus who last night, despite losing 2-1 at home to the Biancocelesti, overcame Lazio in the sum of goals scored and conceded between the two semi-final matches (first leg and second leg).
In the first leg semi-final, between the Tuscans and the Dea, it was Viola who prevailed, with Mandragora’s goal in the 31st minute which decided the match.
Both teams have a tough calendar, between championship and cups, with a guaranteed turnover. Gian Piero Gasperini, the Nerazzurri coach, after the 2-1 championship victory over Monza, underlines: “We have postponed a match against Fiorentina, but there is no free date. It is clear that in such a clogged calendar there is little that can be done.” The coach, together with his men, dreams big: dfter beating Liverpool in the Europa League,and consequently having reached the semi-final against Marseille, the Dea is in full swing for a place in the Champions League, while hoping for the final of the Italian Cup.
On the other side, the Viola, having returned to victory and three points in the championship after two months, it must concentrate on several fronts between a Conference League match, where it reached the semi-final by overcoming Viktoria Plzen, and a Coppa Italia match as the race continues in the championship.
