The integrated logistics group has completed the purchase of the Wedellsborg ship owned by Navco, 51% owned by Grendi Trasporti Marittimi and 49% by Finaval.

This was decided by a large majority with an online vote of employees, customers and suppliers of the integrated logistics group which returned to direct ownership by completing the purchase of the Wedellsborg ship, already rented to the company, through its subsidiary Nav.Co. Srl, a newly established single vessel company based in Genoa and 51% controlled by Grendi Trasporti Marittimi SpA and 49% by Finaval Srl.

Since 22 April the ship has been in the Genoa dock for all necessary maintenance activities and for the livery change. The ship’s port of registry is from Bari to Cagliari.

Below is some technical information on the operation.

The overall value of the operation, of approximately 34 million euros, was financed for 70% of the amount by Crédit Agricole Italia as agent bank and by Banca Popolare di Sondrio.

The ship, which flies the Italian flag and is leased bareboat to the TEAM srl company, wholly owned by the Grendi group, is used for the transport of containers and rolling stock between the Terminals of Marina di Carrara, Olbia, Cagliari and North Africa. Built in 2014 by the Visentini shipyard, she is 180 m long and 26 m wide, with a tonnage of 21,800 tons and a load capacity of 11,585 tons.
