Jimmy Fontana, stage name of Enrico Sbriccoli, he was a beloved Italian musician. He taught himself to play the double bass. Passionate about jazz, Jimmi begins performing with some friends at the Hot club in Macerata. After graduating in accounting, he chose to enroll in the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rome. Here he begins to meet other jazz musicians and begins to collaborate with the Roman New Orleans Jazz Band. After deciding to abandon university to dedicate himself to music, he chooses the name of Jimmy as his stage name in honor of the saxophonist Jimmy Giuffre; the surname, however, came from a random choice in the telephone directory. Jimmy Fontana then joined the Flaminia Street Jazz Band as a singer, recording some records. He later formed the group Jimmy Fontana and His Trio.
