Gino Strada yesterday he would have turned 76 and, to remember him in the best way, some schools in Turin – including the Comprehensive Institute that bears his name – organized a big party at Sermig of Borgo Dora. The event took place this morning after a “march for peace” from their respective offices and simultaneously with the I“Gino Strada” institute in Sesto Fiorentinotwinned for the occasion with the Turin school of the same name.
The memory of Emergency
At the beginning, the activity of the doctor and surgeon, founder of Emergencyin the assistance and care of civilian victims of war: “War – commented Simonetta Gola of Emergency, in streaming connection – it is the problem and not the solution: Gino, from this point of view, has always taught us that it is possible to write another story, transmitting to us the ambition to guarantee human rights for all”.

This is why we must build peace, disarmament and rights”.
It was echoed by the head teacher of the “Gino Strada” comprehensive school in Turin Oscar Maroni: “We want to breed – he has declared – generations who no longer think of war as a tool to solve problems, promoting the values of our Constitution which, in addition to repudiating war, guarantees universal rights such as the right to life”.
