Plastic Free volunteers free Liguria from 2 tons of plastic and waste

A blue wave of over 10 thousand volunteers who with tenacity and determination, defying the adversities of the weather, dedicated a weekend on Earth on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of Earth Day announced by the United Nations and this year dedicated to the theme “Planet vs Plastics”.

The association of Plastic Free Onlus volunteeringcommitted since 2019 to combating plastic pollution, has entered in action in 288 environmental cleaning appointments across the entire national territory to which, for the first time, six initiatives abroad have been added. Thanks to the efforts of the volunteers they were removed a total of 121,534 kg of plastic and waste from the environment, restoring life and splendor to beaches, parks, gardens, river banks and many other public areas.

Also there Liguria she starred with 6 initiatives in the regional territory which saw the participation of 172 volunteerswhich they removed from the environment as many as 1,932 kilos of plastic and waste. The Plastic Free volunteers were active on Saturday 20 April in Ceriale, Genoa, Millesimo, Sarzana and on Sunday 21 April in Imperia and Sanremo.
