Descriptive text here

After months of waiting, finally Dacia Duster 2024 it is ready to arrive on the market; a model that has made versatility and accessibility its trademark. This radical update represents aclear evolution for the brandconsolidating its position in the automotive market.

One of the most crucial choices for potential buyers will be that of motorizationwith three well-differentiated options. You can opt for the ECO-G, which features a 101 HP 1.0 LPG turbo, a sustainable and economical choice. Those looking for a little more oomph under the bonnet can instead opt for the 48V mild-hybrid TCe 130, equipped with a 130 HP 1.2 turbo three-cylinder engine, also available with all-wheel drive to tackle any terrain. Finally, for those who embrace the hybrid trend, there is the Hybrid 140, with a 1.6 four-cylinder mated to two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery, for a total of 140 hp combined.

But there is important news for lovers of diesel: this engine disappears from the Dacia SUV range, a sign of the times and of the growing attention to more sustainable and innovative solutions. A shame, as it allowed the old model (here is our test) to achieve really interesting sales volumes.

Size and exterior

The new Dacia Duster, like the Sandero and Jogger, rests firmly on Groupe Renault’s CMF-B platform, an unmistakable signal of the significant step forward made by the Romanian SUV.

If we look at the profile of the new Duster, we will notice some references to the current generation, but also some details that evoke the world of the most premium off-road vehicles. The overall look is more imposing and muscular, although the dimensions of the 2024 Duster only grow very slightly compared to its predecessor, with just 2 millimeters more length. It doesn’t seem like it, but it’s like that.

The front it is the element that undergoes the most significant changes, with a deep update which aligns with that of the Sandero and the Bigster concept, destined to become a reality during 2025.

The new ones stand out Front LED daytime running lights, with a Y-shaped design that partly recalls the rear ones, characterized by a three-dimensional effect. The rear handles have also been redesigned, elegantly integrated into the doors, while the protections on the side sills and wheel arches are made with the new Sparkle material, introduced at the forefront of the Manifesto concept car and composed of up to 20% recycled materials.

The roof bars remain intact, not only to give the Duster a more SUV look, but also for their practicality in every situation.

Cockpit

Thanks to the adoption of the CMF-B platform, as reported by the company, it has given the new Dacia Duster a increase in internal space, especially in the front area in terms of width and in the rear in terms of legroom. Furthermore, the boot floor has been lowered and the opening made wider and higher, increasing load capacity by 6% for a total of 472 liters minimum on the front-wheel drive version.

The real novelty in the interior of the Dacia Duster 2024 lies in the dashboard, which houses a digital instrumentation (an absolute first for the Romanian SUV, but not available as standard) and a 10.1″ central display facing the driver. The transmission control is also completely new, by wire type, to free up the central tunnel and provide more capacious storage. The steering wheel has a new design, with a flattened shape at the top and bottom, designed to improve comfort of use.

Furthermore, the introduction of the “YouClip” system: depending on the trim level, the new Dacia Duster is equipped with four or six supports for attaching a tablet holder, a bag hanger, a smartphone holder with induction charger or other practical hooks for storing personal objects.

Finally, as with the Jogger, the new generation of Duster also offers it Sleep Pack: a removable 3-in-1 box that includes a folding double bed (up to 1.90 meters long and up to 1.30 meters wide), a storage table and a storage compartment.

Engines

There most significant turning point for the Dacia Duster 2024 undoubtedly concerns its range of engines. First of all goodbye to dieseland in its place makes its debut the TCe 130 mild hybridbased on the 1.2 3-cylinder, combined with a 48 Volt system, for a total of 130 HP. This engine is available for both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive Duster 4×4 versions. The only drawback is the absence of automatic transmission: here, in fact, it is Only the 6-speed manual gearbox is available.

But the electrification of the Dacia Duster 2024 takes a further leap forward with theintroduction of a full hybrid powertrain, the same adopted by the Jogger and some models in the Renault range. It is a 94 HP 1.6 naturally aspirated engine, flanked by two electric motors (one 36 kW/49 HP and the other 15 kW/20 HP with generator function), a 1.2 kWh battery and a automatic gearbox.

The presence of the Duster ECO-G 100, powered by LPG, remains solid. Thanks to its two tanks (one 50 liters for petrol and an equally large one for LPG), it can travel up to 1,300 kilometres. The LPG tank is positioned under the boot floor, so as not to compromise the load capacity.

Installations

The Dacia Duster 2024 range is divided into four installationseach with specific standard equipment that reflects different customer needs and preferences.

At the starting point we find the Dacia Duster Essential, which constitutes the access point to the range. From here the Expression was born, from which two distinct top of the range branches off, each with a clear vocation.

The Dacia Duster Journey stands out for its emphasis on comfort and technology, offering a set of features designed to make the driving experience more enjoyable and connected.

On the other hand, the set-up Extreme offers a more adventurous and rugged configuration, designed for those who embrace an active lifestyle and want a reliable companion for their outdoor adventures.
