On April 20th, like every year, the May festival dedicated to our patron saint San Nicola opens. On April 20, we remember the departure of the ships from Myra to Bari, with the 62 sailors and the relics of the Holy Bishop on board. This year in Bari we will experience the celebration in an atmosphere that is not serene due to the legal events that have affected our city. In Bari, when things are not going well it is customary to say, addressing the Saint: “ Saint Nicholas, put your hand“. This photo highlights the hand of the statue of Saint Nicholas in the act of blessing those who turn to him. This year our city needs a great blessing from the Saint, because in these last months we were not spoken well of.
Saint Nicholas must help us to recover and to hear, after having ascertained all the responsibilities, to speak well of ourselves again.
