VILLA DI SERIO – Francesca Capitanio’s challenge to ‘renovate Villa’: “Over the last 20 years a continuous passing of the baton between the same people. Consequently, the ideas that are proposed are always the same.”

“We want to refresh our country with interesting people and projects, because Villa di Serio needs a change”. The Municipality of the Lower Seriana Valley wants to ‘refresh’ and ‘change’ Francesca Capitaniocandidate for mayor from the ‘RinnoviAmo Villa’ list.

The name of the list is indicative: it shows the desire for renewal and love for one’s territory.

Francesca introduces herself: “I’m from Villa di Serio, I’m 47 years old, I’m married and I have two children. I worked as an accountant in several companies. For years I have also been involved in volunteering in various associations, both in the social and sporting fields. On the social front, I have in fact volunteered at the Hospice and taken care of children who find themselves in a difficult situation. On the sporting front, however, I personally follow the Asd Seriana Kickboxing, which is a non-profit sports association, of which my children are also members, practicing kickboxing”.

You don’t practice it? “In the past, yes, I practiced it too, but I put it aside after I had my second child. Now I only deal with the bureaucratic part. AND – smiles Francesca – In the midst of all these family, work and volunteer commitments, I thought about running for mayor”.

What convinced you to take this step? “Living the reality of our Municipality every day, as a citizen, I had the opportunity to see the results of the work of previous administrations and I realized that in the last 20 years there has been a continuous passing of the baton between the same people…
