GENOA – January 2024 was a positive month for work in Liguria. This is shown by the data from the INPS Observatory on precarious employment.

Not all data is preceded by a plus, such as that of hiring activated by employers private workwhich they were 674,000down compared to the same period of 2023 (-2%).

Apprenticeship hires show negative variations (-11%), in administration (-8%), permanent (5%) and seasonal (-1%).

A positive trend, however, is found for hiring contracts intermittent work (+4%) and fixed-term (+0.3%). The transformations from fixed term to January 2024 have resulted 86,000down compared to the same period of 2023 (-14%).

At the same time, there were 10,000 confirmations of apprenticeship relationships at the end of the training period, a decrease of 7%. Terminations in the first month of 2024 were 518,000, an increase compared to the same period of the previous year (+1%). Apprenticeship contracts (-6%), permanent contracts (-0.4%), fixed-term contracts (+0.4%), temporary and seasonal contracts (+1%) contribute to this result. ) and intermittent work contracts (+5%).

FACILITIES FOR EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIPS – The activation of incentivized employment relationships[2] during the month of January 2024 – therefore considering both the hiring and the contractual changes – they present an overall change of -11% compared to the same period of the previous year. In detail, the total contribution exemption for young people (-72%), the women’s exemption (-27%) and the “other measures” (-14) show a negative decline, while there is substantial stability for the “Contribution relief” South” (+0.4%).

THE CONSISTENCY OF WORK RELATIONSHIPS – The annualized balance, i.e. the difference between the flows of hirings and terminations in the last twelve months, identifies the trend change on an annual basis in job positions (difference between job positions existing at the end of November compared to similar value on the same date of the previous year). In January 2024 there was a positive balance of 501,000 job positions, a slight reduction compared to previous months. For permanent contracts, the annual trend variation is equal to +374,000 units (therefore explaining approximately three-quarters of the overall increase) while for all the other contractual types the variation is equal to +127,000 units (in detail: +69,000 for fixed-term relationships, +32,000 for intermittent workers, +24,000 for apprentices, +2,000 for seasonal workers and -500 for temporary workers).

FOCUS REPORTS IN ADMINISTRATION – In the report there is a table that shows the breakdown of the trends of the administration relationships, distinguishing between permanent ones and fixed-term ones (the latter include both fixed-term and seasonal contracts). During the month of January 2024, temporary hiring decreased compared to the corresponding period of 2023 (permanent -35%, fixed-term -6%). For terminations there was an increase: for permanent contracts +9% and for fixed-term contracts +0.3%. The consequent annualized balance – and therefore the trend change – was negative in January 2024 (-485), the algebraic outcome of a trend decline in permanent employment positions (12,330) and an increase in fixed-term ones (+11,845) . OCCASIONAL JOB – The number of workers employed under Occasional Service Contracts (CPO) in January 2024 stood at just under 15,000 units, up 27% compared to the same month of 2023; the average gross monthly amount of effective remuneration is equal to 248 euros. As regards workers paid with Family Booklet (LF) titles, in January 2024 there were approximately 12,000, a value slightly decreasing by -1% compared to January 2023; the average gross monthly amount of their effective remuneration is equal to 189 euros.
